Celebrating 33RD Porsche 356 Parade

3 DAYS OF 356 ACTIVITIES THAT DEFINITELY SHOULD NOT BE MISSED
SUMMARY OF EVENTS
FRIDAY MORNING - Join us for a morning visit to a private car collection at a location you will be provided with when we assemble. We meet at Maling Road Shopping Area, Canterbury at 10:00 am before a very short drive to the collection. It is suggested that you might wish to be at Maling Road at 9:30 am if you would like a coffee and a chat with friends, as we must depart on time as we are expected at the collection at 10:30 am sharp. The collector does not wish for his or her name or the location to be published, so your discretion is required. A bit of Secret Squirrel stuff for the club, which is a first.
Lunch for those who wish to participate will be at the Blackburn Hotel, Whitehorse Road, Blackburn (at your own expense).
FRIDAY EVENING - We look forward to meeting you all at THE LEVESON (foodies hotel) 46 Leveson Street North Melbourne for a social get together and attendance at the Annual General Meeting. (Meals & Drinks at your own expense)
SATURDAY MORNING - Meet at Como Park North for our annual 356 display and sit down fully catered light lunch. Display of cars and judging to be conducted. We are hoping for better weather than last year, but as always, it will be fun.
SATURDAY EVENING - Pre dinner drinks and canapés at Porsche Centre Melbourne, Victoria Parade, Collingwood from 6:30pm. Dinner will be served from 7:00pm.
SUNDAY MORNING - Meet at Beasley’s Nursery, South Warrandyte at 10:00 am for 10:30 am departure and travel through the northern parts of Melbourne and onto Lancefield for lunch at “The Grange Cleveland Winery” prior to farewelling all participants to return home or continue their adventures in Victoria.
Again, if you want a coffee and a chat before the off, please get to Beasley’s a bit before time so we can leave promptly on 10:30 am.

FRIDAY MORNING
356 DRIVE TO SECRET LOCATION FOR CAR COLLECTION
TIME: 10:00 am (Or 9:30 if you want a coffee and chat)
DEPART TIME: 10:15 am Sharp
ASSEMBLE AT: Maling Road, Canterbury.
Can’t say much about the collection, but it is eclectic and worth seeing. Only those who are at Maling Road and receive the instructions will ever know as that’s when the instructions will be handed out, and then only upon taking a blood oath of secrecy on pain of death. No risk in all of that is there?
COST: A charitable donation cost of $10.00 per head to tour the collection is payable at the door to enter, so please have a ten dollar available.
After seeing the collection, we will travel about 5 k’s to the Blackburn Hotel, Maroondah Highway Blackburn for a spot of lunch (at your own expense).
FRIDAY EVENING
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING, MEET AND GREET SESSION
TIME: 6:00 pm
PLACE: THE LEVESON, 46 Leveson Street, North Melbourne
Meet and greet will be at The Leveson (foodies hotel) from 6:00 pm onwards drinks and mingle in the Queensbury Room with dinner and AGM to commence at 6:45 pm.
This is a “pay your own way” night and all are welcome at this 356 get together.

SATURDAY MORNING
PARADE DISPLAY AND LUNCH AT COMO PARK
TIME: 9:30 - 10:30 am
PLACE: Como Park North, Alexandra Avenue, South Yarra
An informal get together of Porsche owners and enthusiasts whilst enjoying a light sit down lunch at 12:00 noon in the marquee surrounded by Ferry’s finest. Informal judging of 356s’ to be conducted. The top car of the day will be awarded the magnificent “Porsche Cars Australia Trophy” at Saturday night’s function courtesy of Porsche Cars Australia.
If your Porsche 356 is “pre-restoration” you should not feel shy about bringing it along. In fact most of our members have well used vehicles.
Goodie bags available on arrival for those who have paid with their booking fee.
REGISTRATION: We can only reserve a “goodie bag” for financial members who forward a copy of their entry form confirming payment by 9 November 2018 and bring their 356 on the day. This is required, as we have to order metal badges and other items. The cost per car is $55.00.
SATURDAY NIGHT
33RD AUSTRALIAN PORSCHE 356 REGISTER INC ANNUAL DINNER
INCLUDES TROPHY PRESENTATION
TIME: 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm Saturday 24 November 2018
PLACE: Porsche Centre Melbourne, Victoria Parade, Collingwood
COST: $110.00 per head including pre dinner drinks, canapés, plus a 3 course meal and wines.
PARKING: Ample parking is available in Victoria Parade in front of the premises and surrounding streets. DO NOT PARK ON THE PORSCHE CENTRE PREMISES AS PARKING IS REQUIRED FOR CATERERS AND OTHER SERVICE PROVIDER VEHICLE
DRESS: GENTLEMEN – JACKET AND TIE ESSENTIAL.
You are invited to attend the 33rd Parade Annual Dinner at Porsche Centre Melbourne, Victoria Parade, Collingwood.
Pre-dinner drinks and canapés will be served from 6:30 pm and a 3 course dinner commencing at 7:00 pm. Trophy presentation and visual display will be conducted during the evening. Club raffle of various items during the evening.
Renew old acquaintances and make new ones while you enjoy the fine cuisine and wines at this fantastic annual event.
SUNDAY MORNING
TIME: 10:00 am (9:30 am for a coffee and a chat!)
DEPART TIME: 10:30 am
DEPART FROM: Beasley’s Nursery, Warrandyte Road, South Warrandyte.
DESTINATION: The Grange Cleveland Winery, Lancefield.
COST: $35.00 per head plus drinks at your own expense.
Colin has arranged a wonderful adventure covering the north of Melbourne then into the wine regions, culminating in lunch at The Grange Cleveland Winery enjoying a beautiful view of the valley.
For those of you heading home, it is well placed to the then head off north or west as it does not require you to re-enter Melbourne.
RECOMMENDED HOTEL
Interstate, overseas and country visitors are encouraged to stay at THE BAYVIEW ON THE PARK, 52 Queens Road, Melbourne, 8004.
They have set aside a number of rooms at $160.00 per room per night (double or single) and if you wish to include Breakfast that will be at an additional cost of $15.00 per person (pre ordered when you make your booking). Car parking is $13.00 per night.
This is an excellent modern four star hotel, with plenty of undercover parking at a flat rate fee of $13.00 per car, and is offering Porsche 356 members a really exceptional deal. Early booking is essential in order to secure your room. Our block booking will only be held until 1st November.

JUDGING
All cars entered for judging must be present at Como Park for judging. We hope to complete judging by 2.30pm and trophy presentation to be conducted Saturday night at the Porsche Centre Melbourne
We do not inspect the underside of cars but we do judge the engine, passenger and luggage compartment. In the past, the lack of attention to the engine compartment has often been the difference between cars which have scored well, and those which have not. We also like originality!
As in earlier years, we will again have a Masterclass which will include winners of Porsche Cars Australia Trophy” and Gold Awards from the last three years. These cars are not eligible to win the PCA Trophy or Gold Awards again during this period.
Entry into this section is automatic and cars/owners can only win a Masterclass section once.. The objective is to give everyone a fair chance of winning an award.
Once you have won one of the top awards, we feel that others should be given an opportunity.
