Monte Emerald Rally

The Rumors Are True!

We've Reformed The Band!

Friday 12 November 2021

”Get out your jalopy & polish the wheels, she’s got to be the smartest of the automobiles”

Yes, we are once again we are coming out of the dark ages and it is time to get both man and jalopies out from under the doona and exercised !!!

Like the famous Monte Carlo Rally, on this adventure we will be starting a different locations and following different routes, but meeting at the same location where we will enjoy each other's company for lunch.

This event is pay as you go with your meal and drinks at your expense.

There are four starting points:

  1. BP Service Station, Corner Narre Warren Cranbourne Road and Thompsons Road, Cranbourne where your host will be the Vice President, Colin Taylor;
  2. Como Park Lower (at the adjacent Cafe) where your host will be Register Secretary  and barista, Graeme Peake;
  3. Beasley's Nursery, Heidelberg-Warrandyte Road, Warrandyte where your host will be your Treasurer, Rick McIntosh; and
  4. Your Home and go direct if the others don't suit.

From the various starting points, we will make our way by different routes meeting for lunch at midday at the Paradise Valley Hotel, Clematis.  Because the various routes are different, start times may vary.

Rules of the Day - Not Negotiable!
  1. You MUST be double vaccinated and show your vaccination certificate to your stage host before setting off - No Jab, No Play, No Exceptions
  2. You MUST register to attend - do not arrive unannounced!  We still live in a restricted environment and the hotel can only take a limited number of people.  So we must be able to tell them well in advance how many people are attending so they can manage their bookings.  So even if you are going direct to the venue you MUST Register!!!   We do not want to have to turn away people who have not booked - it's that simple.
  3. Registration definitely closes on 6 November, or earlier if the venue cannot accept our numbers, so get in early!
  4. Whilst at the venue we must observe all applicable restrictions - masks on inside other than when seated at the table, and distancing directions.
  5. You must have a good time, or we will put you in for daily Covid testing for a month!
