Dear Members,

I would like to invite you to our second Technical Night being held in conjunction with Porsche Classics Melbourne and hosted by Peter Bowden and his team. For this event event we are going to focus on 2 topics with a hands on demonstration. The topics are "6V vs. 12V: Living with Vintage Electrics" and "The Perfect Tune Trifecta"

Topic 1 - 6V vs. 12V: Living with Vintage Electrics

• Ground Health: Show the group how to clean the battery-to-chassis ground and the transmission ground strap.

• Discussing the popular starter relay upgrade that solves the "hot start" click-but-no-crank issue.

• Demonstrating modern 6V LED bulbs for taillights and indicators that drastically improve visibility without ruining the period-correct look.

The Ask:

Is there a member with a 6V set up that could provide their car to demonstrate modern day LED and compare to the 12V on the 356 Quad Cam. Please email me directly at john.riccio@356register.au

Topic 2 - The "Perfect Tune" Trifecta

The 356 engine is a masterpiece of efficiency, but it only sings when three specific things are in harmony. 

• Valve Adjustments

• Ignition Timing & Points

• Carburettor Synchronization
